Tickets on Sale for North Meets South - Farms, Food, & Drink Festival, June 8-9, 2019, Presented by North Fork Event Company, Inc.

The event, North Meets South, brings the communities of the North and South Forks of Long Island, NY together for a weekend promoting the farm-to-table movement with provisions from local farms, food from restaurants all over the east end, talk to classically trained chefs, meet food truck owners, purchase drinks from your favorite breweries, vineyards, and cider houses. This family-friendly Festival will also feature several children, teen, and adult activities; such as, inflatable houses, games, and slides, rockwall, petting zoo, pony rides, and live interactive entertainment for children and adults!

The first bi-annual Festival officially kicks off on Saturday, June 8th & Sunday, June 9th, 2019. Come experience all the East End of Long Island has to offer from 10am-6pm both days at 149 Edwards Avenue in Calverton, NY 11933. North Meets South is a one stop-shop to indulge in everything good the North and South Forks have to offer. The Festival is set-up to promote and assist in networking the East End Farms, Farmers Markets, and Small Businesses of Long Island to you, the consumer. There truly is something here for everyone!

We encourage local community and Long Island families to meet and mingle with farmers, craft artisans, food trucks, restaurants, breweries, vineyards, cider houses, MLM markets, artists, children’s entertainers, and so many more categories of business from all over Long Island at one central location (Calverton) to celebrate and promote local-to-local Long Island business and encourage networking. This year’s Festivals gathers all aspects of the community together so you can browse, meet the producers, smell, taste, and purchase some of the finest food and drink available from all over the East End giving visitors the opportunity to purchase or sample products which are new and unfamiliar to them.

The Festival includes local bands, interactive entertainment, and Community Art from the East End. Tickets are now available through June 9th, 2019 on Eventbrite at north-meets-south-farms-food-and-drink-festival-tickets-55277293874 for 20 dollars and will be available at the door for 25 dollars. Children 12 and under are free. While pre-sale will not be cut-off, pricing will go up to 25 dollars on June 5th, 2019.

Additional programming announcements include the live band line-up on the main stage; which will include: Jen Kane, Butterfly Cody Experience, and Who Are Those Guys on Saturday, June 8th and Brady Rymer, Southbound, and Paris Ray on June 9th. Over the course of both days there will also be entertainers performing interactive games with children; such as, potato sack races, parachute games, tug-of-war and more. There will be four eating contests, two corn-hole tournaments, and one old- fashioned pig weighing contest. The ‘You Drive Me Glazy DOUGHnut Eating Contest’ will take place both days at 3pm and is sponsored by North Fork Doughnut Company in Mattituck. The ‘Best Shucker Oyster Eating Contest’ will take place on the both Saturday and Sunday at 5pm and is sponsored by

Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue will be performing a ‘Birds of Prey’ show both days; Saturday at 11:30am and Sunday at 12:30pm. Yarn & Farm will be providing exotic animals for the public to interact with and pet both days. During the course of the event, they will also be performing a live ‘exotic animal showcase;’ which will include presentation and awareness of animals participating.

East End Arts Council in Riverhead will be featured in the main building with a curation of art from the community. The doors to this show will be open throughout the duration of the festival on both June 8th & 9th.

North Meets South - Farms, Food, & Drink Festival’s largest sponsor, Chief Equipment of Calverton- a John Deere Sales/Service Dealer, is donating an E110 ride-on mower- valued list price $1799.00 - to be raffled off to the public. The proceeds from this raffle will go to the Long Island Horticulture Research Center to directly benefit their Student Intern Fund; which does diagnostic research locally on sick plants to benefit commercial growers, farmers, and landscapers.
